Mark McBride, an attorney with the firm's Trust & Estate Planning practice, advises individuals and families in all aspects of trust and estate planning, focusing specifically on multi-generational planning. Mark routinely assists individuals and families to minimize estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes through the creation of wills, trusts, business entities and charitable organizations and the use of gifts, sales and other wealth transfer strategies. Mark works closely with his clients’ advisors, including accountants, investment advisors and insurance agents, to ensure the client's goals are accomplished in the most common sense and coordinated manner. Mark also represents executors, trustees and other fiduciaries to effectively and efficiently administer trusts, estates, business entities and charitable organizations.
Renee Hawkes has more than twenty- two years of experience in the financial industry helping high net-worth individuals and families achieve their financial and personal goals. When Gina Chang joined Hellam Varon in 2008, she brought with her ten years of experience in tax and a particular interest in helping families and individuals through the difficult transitions in life. This focus made her a shoo-in for the firm’s large estate and trust practice.
Today, as a shareholder, Gina heads the estate and trust group, specializing in estate planning and taxation, trust income tax planning, fiduciary accounting, and gifting. She loves introducing new clients to Hellam Varon. “We are so different from other firms. Clients don’t realize that until they experience us,” she comments. Gina believes strongly in operating on the clients’ behalf as part of their broader advisory team. She maintains strong relationships with estate planning attorneys and investment advisors. “It’s important our clients know we are all working to help them find peace of mind about their financial future.”

Ann began her career in public accounting in 1986. She worked for Wick Kitto & Company which merged into Grant Thornton, a national CPA firm. After leaving Grant Thornton in 1993, Ann formed the partnership of Norman & Kitto PLLC. She continued as managing member until 2015 when they merged into Hutchinson & Walter.
Ann brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with individuals, trusts, estates, estate planning, and trust administration.
In addition to her professional success, she resides locally with her husband and is the proud mother of a son in Germany and a daughter in San Diego. Ann enjoys traveling, running and entertaining.

Cody Reaves joined Laird Norton Wealth Management in 2019 as a client analyst. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ with nearly a decade of experience in wealth planning and fiduciary services, Cody helps clients align their finances with their life goals using tools and strategies that will work best for their particular situation.
To find the right solutions for complex financial issues, Cody develops close relationships with clients to understand their unique concerns and goals, especially when clients are undergoing a major life transition, be it selling an investment property or gearing up for retirement.
As an LNWM client analyst, Cody is involved in all aspects of client account management and financial planning. His duties include working closely with LNWM client advisors to create, implement and monitor client financial plans, to maintain the appropriate asset allocation strategy within client portfolios, and to propose solutions that enhance the overall client relationship.
Prior to joining Laird Norton Wealth Management, Cody worked in wealth advisory services at Wells Fargo Private Bank, most recently as a wealth analyst, and before that at Key Private Bank. Cody holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and entrepreneurship from Washington State University. He is actively involved with the Puget Sound Financial Planning Association, where he served on the Board from 2015-2018 and was the 2017 President.

Kyle began his career in private wealth management with UBS in 2006. Since then, he has dedicated himself to helping clients attain their financial goals and aspirations. As a partner within The Cascade Group, he acts as the team’s Chief Operating Officer and Co-Chief Investment Officer. He is responsible for customized portfolio construction, investment research and management of the team and its specialists.

Terry Dam has been the Executive Director of EKCEPC since 1997. Since then, she has enjoyed assisting the organization as its membership has nearly tripled. Terry oversees the administrative tasks required to present our five meetings held each year. She is a graduate of the University of Washington and an ardent NFL fan.

We are a network of premier estate planning professionals. We are attorneys, CPAs, CFPs, CFAs, CLUs, ChFCs, Trust Officers, and others for whom estate planning is a significant practice element.
The goal of the Council is to promote interdisciplinary continuing education and networking among estate planning practitioners from various professions.
Its objective is to supplement each profession's own independent professional organization.
To stimulate, promote, and expand the knowledge and qualifications of its members through group study and discussion of the principles and procedures of estate planning.
To foster intelligent cooperation and understanding of the relationships among the professions and business enterprises represented by its members.
To enable its members to improve their service to clients and the general public through the activities of the Council.
